About PacketProtector

PacketProtector is a free, open-source project aimed at bringing the best possible security to your wireless router.

Our distribution includes a number of open-source tools, all of which are preconfigured with broadly useful settings. For example, Snort-inline is setup to block backdoors and attempts to exploit vulnerable clients (web browsers, media players, email clients).

PacketProtector runs on a quarterly release schedule. Snort rules and ClamAV signatures are automatically updated.
